PAWS UP!
_
4 Cups whole wheat flour
2 Cups Grape Nuts cereal
2 Cups mashed banana (apprx. 5)
3/4 Cup water
2 Tbsp Vegetable oil
2 Tbs. honey
_
Put all ingredients in a large bowl, mix to combine. This is a fairly stiff dough. Use the whole wheat flour to roll your dough out onto it about a 1/4 inch thick. Cut out with cookie cutters in bone shapes, kitties, fire hydrants..
_
Mash up ripe bananas - I used 4
Place cookies on ungreased foil-lined baking sheets. (I used parchment paper and it worked perfect) Bake in preheated oven for 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Makes 5 to 6 dozen cookies...
Roll out the dough about 1/4 inch thick
Cut out your treats
JACQUIES NOTES:
This is a huge recipe, I made two pans of cut out bones, as well as one pan of rolled out dough I cut into little squares, and then even had left overs for 6 more little ones I rolled up into balls and flattened.
This recipe called for nutmeg, however I thought I would do a little research and it turns out nutmeg is NOT good for pups, so please be careful when adding spices to your recipes...do your research too :o)
Did you know....bananas are ok for dogs, but only give a few bites of raw bananas, as too much can stop them up a bit. Everything in moderation :ob

Do I look like a guinea pig???
Bark, bark, bark...ooops sorry...someone walked by our house and I had to meet and greet. This is the first recipe I was a guinea pig for. It's a frozen concoction. We used to buy Frosty Paws (a frozen doggy treat) in the frozen section of the supermarket. It's a little pricey, but man I love them....I guess since I eat them so much jacquie decided to make them herself...so hence the 'guinea pig' status...Before trying any of these recipes make sure to check with your veterinarian...your puppy may have special needs.

DELICIOUS ON A HOT DAY! Slurp ' '4 cups of plain low-fat yogurt
2Tbsp. of raw honey (optional)1 sliced banana
Mix all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Use small paper cups or ice cube trays or a favorite mold and pour ingredients in and freeze. Jacquie and Doug usually only let me have a 1/4 of these at a time so I don't get a brain freeze or anything. If you'd like you can add pureed chicken, pureed apple, or a tsp. of peanut butter for a special treat! Keep these chilled in the freezer 'til ready to eat.
These are especially to my liking in the summertime...it gets so hot here in California and with my lovely long hair I need to cool off once in a while.
DID YOU KNOW..................
Yogurt is very good for dogs, it aids in digestion...be sure to take your baby dogs for lots of walks.
